The mask is incredibly light weight and sits close to the face, which decreases user burden when the mask is worn (Hence the name Low Burden Mask).
The filter intakes self seal when a filter is not in use. This design ensures that contaminated air does not leak into the mask when the filter is swapped our whilst in a CBRN contaminated area.
Chosen under the Department of Defences Land 2110 program, the Airboss LBM would be paired with the CQC Targa CBRN suit
when full protection is needed against CBRN threats.
Currently, the ADF has mainly been seen to be utelised by Australian Special Forces, however, it has slowly been issued out to standard ADF personnel.
